CM Uddhav remembers Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s

AURANGABAD (Maharashtra), Apr 11: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday paid a tribute to the eminent social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on the occasion of his 193rd birth anniversary.
Laying a wreath in his honour, CM Thackeray stated that the great Jyotirao was a multi-faceted personality who made immense contributions for bringing reforms to the society.
He said, “Mahatma Phule laid the foundation of modern Maharashtra through the truth-searching movement. The sacrifice, dedication of the revolutionary Phule and his wife Krantijyoti Savitribai gave rise to education, health and social transformation in the State.”
He further said, “Mahatma Jyotirao was multi-faceted. He made immense contributions for the uplift of farmers, labourers and the deprived. Mahatma Jyotirao has made a mark as a great farmer, entrepreneur and management expert besides being a thinker, writer and poets.”
Asking citizens to draw inspiration from the legendary man, he added, “Mahatma Phule made his mark in the infrastructure sector too. He used the money he received from this work for social work.”
The CM remarked that he challenged the British Empire and brought the vision of modern nation-building to the fore. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray also extended greetings on the occasion. (UNI)
