JAMMU, Oct 29: Aspirants of Jammu Kashmir Police Constable have appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for age relaxation in the recruitment of the said post.
Talking to media persons, here today, social activist Mehran Anjum Mir along with the aspirants urged the Chief Minister to order relaxation in the age limit up to minimum 35 years to address the struggles being faced by countless young aspirants.
Pointing out that SSC and other States as well as UTs of the country had given age relaxation due to Corona Pandemic (COVID -19), Mehran said that these setbacks have had a devastating impact, leaving many young people overage and unable to pursue their dreams of securing Government jobs. Moreover, he added, there were alleged recruitment scams, question paper leaks and delay in recruitment in J&K.
“This recruitment was scheduled to be conducted in 2016 but unfortunately this is going to happen after eight years with the result the aspirants whose age was 27- 28 years that time, are now 34-35 years and almost over aged,” he explained and reiterated that the Government should give age relaxation to such aspirants who were waiting since last 8 years for the JKP Constable recruitment.
Mehran urged the Chief Minister to step in and correct this injustice by allowing age relaxation for those who have been caught in this unfortunate cycle. He hoped that this gesture of compassion would not only bring hope to thousands of young men and women but also restore their faith in the system, giving them the chance they deserve to build a better future.
Further, Mehran said that this request was not just about employment but also about giving the youth of J&K justice and opportunities they have long been denied.
