CM, VC KU call on Governor

JAMMU, Nov 8 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today met Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan.
During their hour long meeting, the Governor and the Chief Minister discussed issues related to internal security, modification of existing Panchayati Raj Act before the Block level structures are established, Municipal elections and the implementation of various development schemes.
Matters relating to the functioning of the State Universities and measures for eradicating corruption were also discussed.
Meanwhile, Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, called on Mr Vohra.
The Governor, who is Chancellor of the Kashmir University, held wide ranging discussions with Prof. Talat Ahmad regarding issues relating to furthering the University’s capacities for enlarging the objectives of teaching and research to make the varsity a centre of excellence.
The Governor also discussed with the Vice Chancellor several important issues relating to the off-site campuses.
