JAMMU, Apr 8: While talking to President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra and Chairman Jammu Region Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rakesh Wazir, Chairman and Managing Director J&K Bank Rajesh Kumar Chhibber said that all help would be provided to entrepreneurs including Industries, Tourism and other sectors which are the worst sufferers due to Caronavirus crisis.
Wazir during the discussion besides complimenting the role of J&K Bank in providing best facilities to the people in this difficult time of lockdown, also drew attention towards the fact that J&K Bank/Reserve Bank of India gave three months moratorium for all term loans in light of COVID-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdowns but said that there is great apprehension among the entrepreneurs whose units are under construction and are availing their loans but their instalments have not started because the guidelines are not clear whether their moratorium period will also increase accordingly by these order/s or not.
He said that due to the announcement of the lockdown by the Prime Minister and even before that due to un-certainty and frequent lockdowns including Janta Curfew announced by the Prime Minister himself and with stoppage of trains and interstate buses the work force went to their homes long back and there are very little chances that those works would be started in near future even because of non availability of work force and the material required thereof and requested that the moratorium period of the under construction units be increased accordingly.
Wazir also emphasized that if this lockdown is increased the exemption of three months be increased further for all units.
After listening Wazir patiently, Chhibber assured sympathetic consideration to each and every point and as for as under construction units are concerned he said that orders will be seen minutely and if needed the clarification/directions from the Reserve Bank of India would be sought.
