CMD NHPC inaugurates ‘Diversion of Chenab River’ for Kwar HE Project

JAMMU, Jan 15: CMD of NHPC Limited, R K Vishnoi, virtually inaugurated the ‘Diversion of Chenab River’ for Kwar HE Project in district Kishtwar, today.
RP Goyal (Director Finance, NHPC), Uttam Lal (Director Personnel, NHPC), RK Choudhary (Director Tech & Projects, NHPC), Pankaj Magotra (MD JKSPDC), Ramesh Mukhiya (MD CVPPPL) and other senior officers from NHPC, CVPPPL, JKSPDC and M/s Patel Engineering Limited were also present on the occasion.
The CMD NHPC advised the entire team of CVPPPL, NHPC, JKSPDC and M/s Patel Engineering to work in a planned manner to expeditiously complete the construction works for overall completion of project within scheduled time.
MD CVPPPL was present on the River Diversion site. He expressed his gratitude to the CMD NHPC for his support and assured full commitment and dedication from CVPPPL towards timely commissioning of the project.
Kwar HE Project (540 MW) is being constructed by Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Limited and JKSPDC. CVPPPL has been entrusted with the implementation of four Hydroelectric Projects with installed capacity of about 3094 MW in Chenab River Basin in J&K. Diversion of the river will pave the way for acceleration in construction activities of Kwar HE Project particularly Dam works.
The timely completion of the project is not only important to NHPC and CVPPPL but also crucial for overall development of the region and shall lead to improvement in socio economic conditions of J&K.
