Udhampur, Nov 22: A continuing medical education (CME) programme on “Critical care – a Paradigm Shift” has been organised by Army’s Command Hospital (Northern Command) here from today. Leading experts from hospitals across the country presented and discussed the latest advances in critical care.
In his inaugural address, the GOC-in-C (Army Commander) Northern Command, Lt Gen DS Hooda, lauded the efforts of the Command Hospital in organizing the academic event focused on this very niche and vital area of healthcare practice.
A souvenir of the CME as well as a workshop manual was also released on the occasion by the Army Commander and Chief of Staff, HQ Northern Command. The Director General Medical Services (Army) Lt Gen VP Chaturvedi inaugurated the scientific exhibition alongside the event.
Maj Gen Bipin Puri, MG (Medical) Northern Command while welcoming the guests and delegates said that the academic event included feature lectures, brainstorming sessions and deliberations on newer technologies, evolving concepts as well as revised treatment protocols in critical care.
Maj Gen N Srinath, Commandant, Command Hospital (Northern Command) while concluding the inaugural ceremony said that, the proceedings of the CME will definitely help the medical fraternity keep abreast with the latest in critical care.
The conference was preceded by a workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation including Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. The keynote addresses were delivered by Lt Gen VP Chaturvedi, DGMS (Army) and Dr Sumit Ray from Sri Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi on Emergencies in Rheumatology and Evolution of Sepsis management respectively.
