CME on anatomy in clinical practice held

SRINAGAR, Oct 14: The Department of Anatomy at GMC Srinagar today hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event, titled ‘Role of Anatomy in Clinical Practice,’ on the occasion of World Anatomy Day.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Tanvir Massod Bhat, Principal, GMC Srinagar, in the presence of department heads, delegates, faculty, and students. Dr. Tanvir commended the organizing committee for their exceptional choice of topic for the CME.
The event brought together speakers from medical education, faculty members and eager students, fostering an atmosphere of deep learning and professional growth. The CME event covered a diverse range of topics, expertly presented by the speakers.
Prof. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Head of the Anatomy Department at GMC Srinagar, delivered a thought-provoking talk on “The Role of Anatomy in Translational Research,” emphasizing how anatomical sciences can facilitate the translation of basic medical science research into clinically beneficial outcomes for society.
Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah engaged the audience with his presentation on “The Role of Anatomy: From the Dissection Hall to the Theatre,” showcasing the crucial role of dissection hall skills in the success of surgical procedures.
Prof. Mohd. Saleem Itoo provided an in-depth analysis of “The Anatomical Basis of Ultrasound,” demonstrating the significance of anatomical knowledge in the use of ultrasound for clinical diagnosis and patient care.
Dr. Javed Ahmad Khan enlightened attendees with his talk on “Craniometric Points in Neurosurgery,” highlighting the vital role of anatomical knowledge in the field of neurosurgery.
Dr. Shaafiya Ashraf, an expert from the Radiodiagnosis department, offered valuable insights into “The Role of Anatomy in Imaging,” illustrating the synergy between anatomy and radiology and how a profound understanding of anatomy is fundamental to accurate medical imaging.
On the occasion, Dr. Mahak Mushtaq Kanyu received the best poster award in the research field, and in the undergraduate category, Syed Huzaima Andrabi claimed the first position for her artistic drawing of “Human Heart and Brain.”
