CME on Arthroplasty of hip held at GMC

JAMMU, Oct 27: A CME on Arthroplasty of the hip was conducted by Department of Orthopaedics at GMC here.
Dr Anant Mahaptra, a well known Orthopaedic Surgeon from Ireland was the resource person on the occasion, who operated on a 24-year-old female patient. He did a live revision total hip replacement surgery on the patient, who had been operated outside the state on earlier occasion.
The CME, which was inaugurated by Principal GMC Jammu Prof Ghanshyam Dev, was attended by large number of Orthopaedic surgeons from the State.
On the occasion, lectures on the topic regarding the hip replacement surgery were delivered by various faculty members.
Dr Anil Gupta, Prof and HoD Orthopedics impressed upon the fact that arthroplasty of all joints is being done routinely at GMC Jammu and poor people of the region need not go outside for such treatment.
