CME organized on leadless pacemakers

JAMMU, Mar 25: Dr Amit Bhushan Sharma, Senior Interventional Cardiologist at Artemis Hospital and son of the soil today said the leadless pacemakers are as small as a Rupee coin and didn’t require major operation having zero chance of infection.
Addressing the continuing Medical Education (CME) here, Dr Sharma dwelled on new technology of valve replacement, which didn’t require open heart surgery and can be put through the leg arteries like a stent.
The CME was chaired by prominent Cardiologists including Dr CD Gupta, Dr Mohan Lal, both former HoDs of Cardiology Department and Dr Sushil Sharma, incumbent HoD of Cardiology, Government Medical College, Jammu.
Dr Sushil Sharma hailed new technological advances and emphasized that there should usher in new era of minimally invasive procedures without cutting the chest open and shortening the hospital stay.
Dr Mohan Lal said the new procedure will provide ray of hope to patients, who are unfit to undergo open heart surgeries.
Dr CD Gupta lauded Dr Amit Sharma for bringing on table all advances including adult coronary structural pediatric and peripheral vascular interventions.
Dr Sushil Sharma mentioned in detail as to how these cutting edge technology will change future of health care in the State, which has already experiences a transformation in recent times with complex coronary angioplasties, which he has pioneered.
About 100 Physicians and Pediatricians from different parts of Jammu attended the CME.
