CME on Pediatric Trauma organized at ASCOMS

JAMMU, Sept 8: A one-day CME on Pediatric Trauma was held today at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Science & Hospital (ASCOMS) auditorium.
The CME was organized by the J&K chapter of Orthopedic Association in collaboration with Department of Orthopedics, ASCOMS. About 100 delegates from across the State participated in the CME.
Besides local faculty, the outstation faculty comprised of Dr PN Gupta from GMC Chandigarh, Dr Nirmal Raj from PGI Chandigarh, Dr Snajay Sarup from Artemis Hospital, Delhi, Dr Vikas Gupta from Safdarjung Hospital and Dr NK Magu from Rohtak.
The event was graced by DK Batra, Joint Secretary and Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS. Dr Rajesh Gupta, Prof and HoD, Department of Orthopedics was the organizing secretary for the CME. The event commenced with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting ceremony.
Pediatric trauma is any trauma to an infant, child or adolescent. Now because of anatomical and physiological differences between a child and adult the management of care is different for both. Hence, an area of expertise is required.
During the CME, there was an abundance of informative talks on pediatric trauma and various interactive case discussions. A quiz open to all was also organized during the run period of the CME, wherein first prize was bagged by Dr Shakeel Ahmed, second prize was won by Dr Abdul Gani while third prize went to Dr Nirdosh.
The CME ended in a successful note with the vote of thanks by Dr Rajesh Gupta.
