JAMMU, Sept 21: In order to streamline the collection of relief material from the Srinagar airport, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today directed that the claimants should carry relevant documents in order to avoid any inconvenience.
In a series of tweets, Mr Abdullah said, “some people are trying to pick up relief without supporting documents and the same is causing the problem”, adding “all such persons should cooperate by carrying and producing the supporting documents before lifting the relief material”.
“No NGO registration is required but without AWB No and ID Airlines, the concerned authorities will not hand over the material and rather repatriate back to the sender”, he further said.
According to his another tweet, relief material remained struck at airport after the claimant failed to produce the relevant documents. Responding to the claimant’s tweet, he immediately suggested him to take Airway Bill Number and valid photo ID to pick up the consignment.
He even issued directions to the Special Relief Commissioner for Srinagar, Nazim Khan to help in sorting out the issue.
