JAMMU, Nov 20:  All J&K Central Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Union has urged upon the State Level Welfare Fund Committee of the PDD to incorporate modifications with regard to the Govt order No. 77-PDD of 2008.
In a letter submitted to the Member Secretary of the Fund Committee, the Union welcomed the Committee for taking some employee friendly steps but at the same time demanded that in case of death of the employee during service relief be enhanced from Rs 2.70 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.  It was also stressed that the cap of Rs 20,000 under interest free loan by Provincial Welfare Committee should be waived off.  It was proposed that relief of Rs 20,000 in case of   damage to the house/ property should be enhanced  to Rs one lakh.
The Union also proposed that relief of Rs 20,000  in case of electrocution disability due to fall/ electrocution while on duty / natural calamity, is not sufficient and it should be enhanced; proposed immediate relief be enhanced from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 and relief on superannuation of the employee be increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000.
It was suggested that the amount proposed to the tune of   Rs 2000 for life consuming disease per month be enhanced as per requirement as medical treatment in some diseases was very costly. It was pointed out that enhancement of  the monthly subscription by 10 % on yearly basis from the subscribing employees was not acceptable. As the welfare fund has not been audited  and the balance sheet is never made public by any committee and neither the lists of the subscription or published. There was need to maintain transparency. The Union pointed out that deduction of one day salary and crediting it into official account as instructed by Chief Engineer EM&RE Wing Kashmir, instead of Welfare Fund account is injustice  with the employees and their fund.
