KATHUA, Sept 15 : Reiterating Coalition Government’s commitment to provide better civic amenities to the people, BJP MLA from Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today said that massive development activities have been launched across the State to ensure safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the State.
The MLA while interacting with the people after inaugurating various development works including a drain at Ward 4 Kathua at cost 1.5 lakh, black topping patch work from Changran to Nagri at cost 3.5 lakh, drain at Lower Jakhbar costing 3.00 lakh and drain at village Sumwan at cost 2 lakh.
The MLA while addressing the public meetings said that with the starting of these works, the long pending demand of the people has been redressed. The necessary instructions have been given to the concerned engineers to complete the works within stipulated time frame, he added. He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas while stressing the need for public involvement in the developmental activities. He said that without their cooperation the objective of the Government of taking State’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
MLA maintained that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes. He said Coalition Government has introduced various reformative measures to extend improved basic amenities to the people of the State especially those living in rural and far-flung areas. He appealed the people not to encroach Government land as the same will invite strict action. He reiterated that the coalition is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people across the State.
