RAMBAN, Apr 20: Yuva Adhikar Yatra started by the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) reached Ramban today. BJYM activists led by the BJP district President Vijay Mohan Thakur and BJYM State secretary Neelam Langeh received the yatra at Ramban bridge.
Addressing the Youth rally at Ramban BJYM State president, Ravinder Raina lambasted NC-Congress Government for ignoring the terrorism victims of Jammu region. He said the families of all those who fought against the Pakistan sponsored terrorism and laid down their lives are at the verge of starvation and those who were involved in terrorism and bloodshed are being felicitated by the Congress and the National Conference Government.
Successive Congress and National Conference Governments are responsible for the backwardness of the hill districts like Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch. He said the rampat corruption by the Congress-NC Ministers destroyed the future of young generation and the sufferings of common man have no solution.
Raina said needy and deserving people were deprived of the benefits of the poverty alleviation schemes like MGNREGA, IAY etc as these schemes only exist on papers. He demanded that locals should be given priority in the new hydro-electric projects and other developmental activities going on in this belt. He said “instead of appointing locals on small petty jobs, the agencies engaged in executing the hydro-electric projects must open training centers here to train the local unemployed youth so as to engage them on technical and skilled jobs”. He also demanded, employment opportunities for locals must be created while constructing hydro-electric projects in this belt.
