SAMBA, Oct 31: All India Backward Classes Union Social in its meeting at Vijaypur under the chairmanship of its provincial president, Sadhok Chand has accused the NC-Congress coalition of depriving the OBCs of their constitutional rights and avoiding the implementation of Mandal Commission report despite the Apex Court judgment of 1992.
President of the Union Abdul Majid Malik was the chief guest during the meeting and it alleged that the backward classes are living in abject poverty due to the callousness of the State Government towards them.
The meeting decried the role of coalition in particular and other political parties in general towards the OBCs and alleged that under the garb of Article 370 these hapless people have been deprived of Mandal Commission recommendations which is a total injustice.
The meeting alleged that setting up of OBC Advisory Board has not proved beneficial for these hapless people and this Board is totally non functional while both chairman and vice chairman have no reply to the same.
The meeting said though total population of OBCs is above 50 percent in the State but Government continues to be callous towards them. It urged the Chief Minister to look into the memorandum submitted to him on September this year and implement the Apex Court judgment in this regard.
