KATHUA, May 27: Member Legislative Council (MLC) and Congress leader, Th Balbir Singh today asked the authorities to ensure supply of power and water in the Kandi belt of Kathua district.
Winding up his two days’ tour of the Kandi belt in the district, especially in Billawar assembly constituency, Balbir Singh said that people during interaction at several places complained about acute shortage of water and prolonged power cuts. During these hot summer days, the life of the people has become hell due to power failure. The officials at the helm of affairs have failed to improve the essential supplies.
The Congress leader regretted that performance of PDP-BJP Government and said that except photo session and issuing lengthy press notes, Coalition Govt has done nothing to solve day today problems of the people. The system appears to be completely collapsed because power and drinking water are luxuries in this belt. He also alleged shortage of ration in this belt.
