Coconut oil rises on increased local demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 30: In restricted activity, coconut oil prices rose by upto Rs 75 per tin at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to pick up in local demand along with higher advices from producing regions.

However, other edible and non-edible oils continued to trade in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said rising demand from local parties supported by higher producing region advices mainly pushed up coconut oil prices.

In the national capital, coconut oil moved up to Rs 2,700-2,775 from previous level of Rs 2,650-2,700 per tin.

Following are today’s quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,140-1,250.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,300, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,300-1,375, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,000, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,225-1,275, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,275-1,375, sesame mill delivery 8,100, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,500, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,200, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,000, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,050, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,950, Palmolein (Kandla) 5,750 and Coconut (per tin) 2,700-2,775.

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,800, Castor 9,650-9,750, Neem 5,350-5,450. (PTI)
