JAMMU, Jan 30: Dr Varinder Sharma, Co-convenor of the Professional Cell at BJP Jammu and Kashmir applauded the visionary decision of the Union Government to codify the terminology related to disease and treatment in Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha medicine. This monumental step, championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflects the Government’s unwavering commitment to providing a robust healthcare system that caters to the diverse needs of the Indian populace.
Dr Varinder Sharma said codification of medical terminology marks a significant milestone in standardizing healthcare practices across traditional medical systems. Through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH and the World Health Organization, this initiative will ensure uniformity in the language used by doctors, thereby streamlining patient care and facilitating seamless communication between healthcare providers.
He emphasized that the transformative impact of this initiative on patient experience will enhance and enable good healthcare facilities across the length and breadth of India. He added, “With the help of this coding, all doctors will now write the same language on their prescriptions or slips. One advantage of this would be that if you go to another doctor with that slip, the doctor will get complete information about it from just that slip.”
This standardized approach will not only enhance patient safety by providing comprehensive information about their illness, treatment, and medication history but also facilitate global collaboration in medical research. Furthermore, Dr Varinder Sharma highlighted the invaluable contributions of individuals like Yanung Jamoh Lego and Vaidyaraj Hemchand Manjhi in preserving and promoting traditional medicinal practices.
“I am confident that our doctors associated with these AYUSH systems will adopt this coding as soon as possible,” he affirmed saying that the BJP Government at the centre is committed to give people a better healthcare system for which our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is putting his best foot forward. He asserted, “This achievement of India will make the life of patients easier and mitigate their problems to a significant extent.”
