KATHUA, Aug 11: Col (retd) Mahan Singh, Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua inaugurated the J&K Bank’s ATM at Marta Nagrota today which has fulfilled the long pending demand of the people of this area.
While addressing the gathering comprising the locals besides prominent persons and the Jammu and Kashmir Bank officials, Col Mahan Singh said that ATMs have become an essential part of people’s life in the present day scenario and it has become necessary to multiply the number of already existing ATMs especially in the remote and far flung areas. He thanked the officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank for devotedly serving the people of this Union Territory and providing them the excellent services in the banking sector.
While informing the people that a memorandum has already been submitted to the J&K Bank Authorities for opening its 11 more branches in Duggan, Lowang, Hutt Mashka, Budhi Nagrota, Dhar Mahanpur, Dewal, Parnala, Duggan, Malhar, Chakra Morh and Banhore areas in district Kathua, the DDC Chairman said that the memorandum was handed over to DGM J&K Bank, Jammu Central Zone II, Sanjeev Sharma and hoped that action will soon be initiated by the Bank authorities in this direction so that the people of Kathua do not face any difficulty so far as their banking needs are concerned.
Prominent among others present at the inauguration function were BDC Sushma Jamwal, Sarpanch Pretha Maya Devi, Sarpanch Plakh Pritam Singh, Sarpanch Plassi Romesh Chander, Capt Des Raj, Capt Harnam Singh, Ram Chand, Ex BDO Balvinder Singh and Rajinder Jaswal.
