Col Mahan visits Kathua villages, vows to fast-track projects

KATHUA, Jan 31: Col Mahan Singh, Chairman DDC Kathua, today visited the remote Dhar Jankher area to assess infrastructure projects and address local issues.
During his tour, he visited Kholi Talai, Frolu and Jagna villages, holding public meetings where he listened to residents’ concerns.
Accompanied by senior leaders, Col Mahan Singh inspected the damaged Kholi Talai-Jagna and Kholi Talai-Samoond roads, which are in urgent need of repair.
He also reviewed the ongoing construction of the GHSS Snanghat building and the viewpoint at Jagna, stressing the importance of completing these projects quickly.
Reaffirming his commitment to the development of Kathua’s remote areas, Col Mahan Singh emphasized the need for better road connectivity, which is vital for economic growth and improved access to services.
He assured locals that their concerns would be raised with relevant authorities to speed up road repairs and new constructions.
The DDC Chairman also underscored the importance of improving infrastructure like schools, healthcare facilities and public amenities to enhance the quality of life in rural communities.
During his visit, Col Mahan Singh also expressed his condolences to the family of Late Shri Swarna Singh, an ASI in J&K Police, who recently passed away, honouring his service to society.
