Inaugurates JJM Scheme worth Rs 4.08 cr

KATHUA, May 6: Showing continuing concern for remote and backward areas, Col (retd) Mahan Singh DDC Chairman, Kathua, today visited extremely remote and under developed areas like Kot, Nooni, Zeelu, Koogh, Leundi, Sealoo & Bhiker villages of district Kathua and took stock of issues and problems of the people.
The DDC Chairman visited these isolated villages on the invitation of local residents and conducted series of meetings with poor villagers who had gathered from remote area to narrate their woes to Col Mahan. They mainly raised issue of road connectively from Kote to Habitats of Nooni, Jeelu and Leundi and a bridge over Chirl Nallah. Some residents raised issue of shortage of teachers in Government schools.
The DDC Chairman was accompanied by Sushil Banjalia local BJP leader, Sarpanch Bhiker, Sarpanch Sialag and Sarpanch Bhoond. Besides, large number of prominent residents and officials of PHE and Electricity Department were also present.
Col Mahan listened to their issues patiently, noted them and assured early redressal of the same. Expressing his serious concern over the far flung areas craving for development, the DDC Chairman held the public representatives of yesteryears responsible for the same accusing them of having failed to address the public issues despite being in power for about seven decades.
The DDC Chairman reiterated commitment of BJP Government to bring all-around development in rural and remote areas. He asserted that DDC Council under his chairmanship will leave no stone unturned to fulfil all promises made to the people during election.
Earlier, Col Mahan inaugurated Bhiker Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme worth Rs 4.08 crores which included construction of at least three water reservoirs of 10000 Gallons capacity, a water filtration plant of 5000 gallons and laying of around 45 kms long water pipe of different size in the entire Panchayat of Bhiker.
The DDC Chairman complimented PM Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS PMO and LG Manoj Sinha for ongoing numerous developmental projects in the region. He emphasized on quality of work and timely completion of projects.
