SRINAGAR, Jan 19: Kashmir valley remained in the grip of cold wave conditions with night temperatures dipping further and Ladakh region recording lowest day temperatures of the season.
Srinagar recorded a low of minus 3.1 degrees Celsius, one degree down from previous night’s 2.0 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 12.2 degrees Celsius, which is 6.4 degrees Celsius above normal.
The night temperature in Qazigund, in South Kashmir, stayed at a low of minus 3.0 degrees Celsius which is 2 degree Celsius down from previous night’s minus 0.4 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius, 5.1 degrees Celsius above normal.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees down from previous night’s 0.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 9.7 degrees Celsius, 5.2 degrees Celsius above normal.
Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.1 degrees Celsius down from previous night’s minus 2.8 degree Celsius. The maximum day temperature settled at 12.5 degrees, Celsius which is 5.9 degrees Celsius above normal.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 8.6 degrees Celsius, down from previous night’s minus 7.0 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature settled at minus 2.4 degrees Celsius.
The night temperature in Pahalgam settled at minus 5.7 degrees Celsius last night, down from previous night’s minus 1.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 9.9 degrees Celsius, 5.9 degrees Celsius above normal.
Leh recorded a low of minus 13. 8 degrees Celsius last night, down from previous night’s minus 6.9 degrees Celsius while the maximum day temperature was recorded at minus 10 degrees Celsius, down from yesterday’s 7.9 degrees Celsius.
