Coldest night of season in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 16 : Cold weather conditions show no signs of relenting as mercury plunged across Kashmir with Srinagar recording coldest night of the season last night.
The Meteorological Department said that mercury settled at minus 1.2 degree Celsius against minus 0.0 degree Celsius the previous night in Srinagar. While the minimum temperature was below minus 2.4 degree Celsius than the normal for this time of the year in the city, it was lowest so far this season.
Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.8 degree Celsius against minus 1.2 degree Celsius the previous night. It was minus 3.1 degree Celsius below normal for the place.
Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 4.7 degree Celsius against minus 4.0 degree Celsius previous night and normal of minus 1.2 degree Celsius.
Kokernag recorded a low of 0.2 degree Celsius against 0.4 degree Celsius the previous night.
Kupwara recorded a low of minus 2.3 degree Celsius against minus 1.6 degree Celsius the previous night.
Gulmarg recorded a minimum of minus 1.2 degree Celsius against minus 1.6 degree Celsius the previous night.
Leh recorded a low of minus 8.6 degree Celsius against last night’s minus 7.6 degree Celsius while mercury settled at minus 3.4 degree Celsius against minus 2.6 degree Celsius last night in Kargil.
The MeT office has said that the weather shall remain dry in plains for at least November 20 in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“A feeble Western Disturbance is likely to affect the region during November 21-23rd which may cause light to moderate snow over higher reaches especially northern parts of Kashmir.”
