REASI, Nov 15: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J), NABARD branch Reasi, ACTECH and Department of Agriculture, Reasi, organized the collaborative farmers training programme on commercial organic farming at Kanaha village of Pouni block in Reasi district.
Kumar Vivek Shahi, Manager of ACTECH, gave a detailed view of organic farming, which refers to eco-friendly methods for crops cultivation and food processing. He educated the farmers on marketing management of their farm produce.
Dr Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, suggested the farmers that they should get their soil tested and have soil health cards. He stressed on the use of biofertilizers, bio pesticides, crops rotation, green manuring, use of farm wastes etc. for the commercial organic farming.
Adarsh Gupta, DDM NABARD, Reasi, Chairman of ACTECH Sanjeev Kumar and Directors of ACTECH were also present. Adarsh Gupta, DDM, Reasi concluded the programme.
