RAJOURI, Apr 5: Mystery shrouds the death of a young college girl hailing from Kalakote area, whose dead body was recovered from her rented room at Rajouri town today.
Official sources said that 20-year-old girl, hailing from Sailsui village in Kalakote, was studying in 5th Semester at Govt PG College, Rajouri. She had not gone to her home this Sunday and stayed there at rented room in Kheora area of Rajouri. Her sister and other family members made several phone calls to her on her mobile phone in the morning but there was no response.
After seeking no response, the father of the girl, Ranjit Thakur made call to the land lord at Rajouri on his phone. When the landlord entered the room to inquire into the matter, he found girl’s body hanging from the hook of ceiling fan. He was shocked to see and narrated the mater to the girl’s family members and also informed police.
The police party led by SHO rushed to the spot. The police and forensic team examined the spot and then shifted the body for postmortem to GMC Hospital, Rajouri.
Though police was suspecting it as suicide case but the father of the girl as well as other family members, are terming it as a murder and not suicide as the girl was from a good happy family having no stress or any other problem.
The police registerted a case under 174 CrPC and started investigation. SSP Rajouri, Sheema Qasba assured the family of a fair and transparent investigation in the matter. She said the police team was working on all the angles of the case.
