JAMMU, Mar 24: Purmandal Gramin Manch (PGM) here today claimed that the Degree College Purmandal has been shifted some five kilometres away from the place where it was sanctioned.
In a press conference Manch president, Govind Ram Sharma said that the College was sanctioned by PM Modi in the year 2019 for Purmandal but under some conspiracy some influential people got it shifted to Katvalta which is five kilometres away from Purmandal.
He said that people of Purmandal are already on protest there demanding that the College should be started at Purmandal itself.
Nisha Uppal, Manch vice president and Pooja Sharma, secretary said, there are many small villages near Purmandal which even lack proper road connectivity.
“Now the students from such villages, especially girls, will have problems in reaching Katvalta as first they have to reach Purmandal and then from there they have to board some vehicle to the College,” Pooja Sharma said.
J.L Baru, an activist from Purmandal claimed that many girls drop their studies after higher secondary only because the College is not easily reachable for them.
Chairman Bhagwan Parshuram Ji Trust, Dr. Kuldeep Sharma also spoke on the occasion and said that the Government should look into the issue and resolve it.
