JAMMU, May 26: Central and zonal bodies of College Teachers Association (CTA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Dr Sanjay Verma and discussed various issues relating to the fraternity.
CTA discussed in detail the anomalies regarding the recent SRO-124 issued by the HE Department, J&K. It was resolved that a delegation of CTA will meet the Minister of Higher Education and Secretary HE Department to resolve the issue pertaining to SRO-124, extending benefits of SRO-222 to college teachers, enhancement of age of superannuation, post of Prof, nomenclature of PTI.
Dr Sanjay Verma informed that various issues such as enhancement of remuneration for evaluation and conduct, seniority issues in evaluation, clearance of pending bills, collection of balance stationery from colleges and simplification of tax procedures vis-à-vis evaluation and conduct were taken up with the Controller of Examination and other functionaries of Jammu University.
During the interaction, the Controller informed that the enhancement of remuneration was on the cards and he agreed that the balance stationery will be collected by the University after the end of the examination from colleges, Dr Verma added.
He further stated that Controller issued a letter to all the conveners of the Board of Studies and requested them to observe utmost caution while taking into consideration the seniority of teachers while issuing duties to the teachers. The Controller further assured that the tax procedures will be made simple.
CTA strongly condemned the manhandling of college teacher of GDC Doda Prof Bashir Ahmed Bhat and appealed the authorities to take strict action against the culprit immediately.
