College Teachers meet Asgar Samoon

JAMMU, Nov 17: A meeting of College Teachers Association was held with Principal Secretary Higher Education, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, to discuss the various issues concerning the College fraternity.
The Association, led by Prof D S Manhas, demanded that the process of placement/Promotion in different AGPs be expedited so that the teachers are placed in next Grade as and when due to them.
The CTA further demanded that guidelines be issued for implementation of API for placement in AGP 7000 and 8000 on Pro rata basis from April 2017 onwards.
Apprising the Principal Secretary that in some colleges, some teaching faculty members are not getting salary for the last few months due to non availability of posts in their respective colleges, the Association demanded that the matter be sorted out immediately.
The CTA also discussed the matter of recognition of college teachers in Cluster University, Jammu and enquired whether the services in Cluster University, Jammu are pensionable or not.
The Principal Secretary issued on the spot instructions to examine and put up for DPC next month the cases of placement/Promotion and also instructions were issued regarding the drawl of salary. Regarding guidelines for implementation of API, he informed that modalities shall be prepared. He further informed that statues of Cluster University Jammu have been approved and now the process of recognition has to be carried out by the Cluster University. He further clarified that the teachers who have been appointed before 2010, if recognized in Cluster University, shall be provided the pensioner benefits.
