JAMMU, Nov 19: Separate delegations of College Teachers Association(CTA) and J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Association today called on Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and submitted a memorandum of issues.
The CTA delegation, led by its president, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia, apprised Dy CM of the long pending issues of college teachers seeking their immediate redressal.
Dr Rakesh Jasrotia raised the issues of restoration of Advanced Increments for higher qualifications of MPhil/PhD, timely placements and immediate release of arrears thereof, enhancement of retirement age , immediate notification of Recruitment Rules for College Teachers, provision of placement to the post of Professor for College Teachers under UGC Career Advancement Scheme, provision of permission for full time PhD with study leave as per UGC Regulations-2018, transfers of College Teachers under ATD through a properly notified rational and transparent Transfer Policy, operating the remaining list of Principals as per the order of CAT Jammu.
Dy CM keenly listened to the demands of College Teachers as raised by Dr Rakesh Jasrotia and assured that the same will be resolved at the earliest after discussion with Minister of Higher Education, Sakina Itoo.
The delegation comprised of Dr Akhtar Hussain, Prof Amit Kumar Sharma, Prof Mohd Qayoom, Prof Ritu Dewan, Prof Shweta Choudhary, Prof Sanjay Samyal, Prof Aashiq Hussain, Prof Sudesh Kumar and Dr Arun Sharma.
Meanwhile, a delegation of All J&K +2 Lecturers ‘ Forum Jammu, led by its president Pardeep Singh Rakwal also called on Dy CM, Surinder Choudhary and highlighted three key issues of lecturer fraternity viz regularisation of I/C lecturers, grant of ACP and filling up of vacant posts of Principals.
Rakwal, while raising the issue of unnecessary delay in convening DPC for regularisation of Incharge lecturers, urged Dy CM, Surinder Choudhary to direct the department to convene DPC immediately as the Incharge lecturers had been waiting since long for their regularisation which was overdue.
Surinder Choudhary assured that he would talk to the Minister of Education, Sakina Masood Itoo and get the issue of regularisation settled once for all.
The Plus 2 Lecturers’ delegation also met Javed Rana, Minister for R&B and sought his intervention in the settlement of their issue.
The delegation comprised of Surinder Madhyal, Gh Nabi Malik, Ravinder Singh, Darshan Lal, Paramjeet Singh,Tirath Singh, Mohd Ismail, Balbeer Singh, Raj Kumar, Vijay Singh Dhawan, Krishan Singh, Inderjeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Mohd Jamil and others.
