SRINAGAR, Aug 3: In the wake of violent protests by students on Tuesday this week against Pulwama killings, the colleges and schools in most parts of the Valley remained shut for the second consecutive day today on Government directions.
The classwork in six key educational institutes of Srinagar that include Amar Singh College, Sri Pratap College, Gandhi College, Islamia College, Sri Pratap Higher Secondary School and MP Higher Secondary School remained suspended today as authorities feared protests by the students.
The colleges and schools in Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama and in several other parts of the Valley also remained closed today. The classwork, however, in all these educational institutes is expected to resume tomorrow. Following the killing of Abu Dujana, his associate and a civilian in an encounter at Pulwama district on Tuesday, massive protests and clashes were staged by students across the Valley.
