Colourful cultural activities mark day 3 of multimedia exhibition

KATRA, Oct 18: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today organised diverse programmes as part of the audience engagement and mobilisation activities for the ongoing 8-day long multimedia exhibition here.
The multimedia exhibition on the theme of nine years of Seva, Sushashan Aur Garib Kalyan is being organised by CBC’s Field Office, Udhampur at Government Higher Secondary School, Katra from October 16 to 23.
Ghulam Abass, Joint Director, CBC, J&K and Ladakh region along with Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Katra, Deepak Dubey presided over the proceedings.
Speaking on the occasion, Abass briefed about the activities being organised as part of multimedia exhibition in Katra.
Dubey appreciated CBC for being a regular participant in annual Navratra Festival and organizing multimedia exhibition for mass awareness of public welfare schemes of the Government.
Empanelled cultural troupes from Rajasthan and Kashmir enthralled the audience by their colourful performances presenting the famed Ghoomar and Band Pather respectively.
Students from different schools of Katra Sub Division participated in singing, fancy dress, open quiz and drawing competitions on third day of the event. Sports competitions like Kabaddi and Tug of War were also organised during the day.
Winners in each category were awarded at the conclusion of the event. The events were organised in coordination with Govt Higher Secondary School, Katra.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf informed that under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, cultural evening is being organised on daily basis by CBC, wherein troupes from different States perform for the devotees and spread the message of communal harmony and national integration.
