Commercial Taxes employees take up issues with Finance Minister

JAMMU, Dec 4: J&K Commercial Taxes Association delegation headed by its president Nazir Ahmed Bhat met Finance Minister Hasseb A Drabu.
The delegation also comprised of Harvinder Singh, general secretary of the association, Yeshwinder Singh, Chairman and Qamar Ali Rizvi, vice chairman.
During the meeting, the delegation demanded rationalization of the pay scale of Guards, Sub-Inspectors, Inspectors and Ministerial Staff and creation of posts of Section Officers at par with Senior Stenographer with every Deputy Commissioner of the Department.
They also submit a memorandum projecting the demands of the employees including removal of pay anomaly in the case of Executive and Ministerial Staff of Excise and Commercial Taxes Departments, removal of pay anomalies at par with other branches of Finance Department, revision of grades of the belt force, grant rewards and awards to boost the morals of the employees, uniform allowances and two and half day salary of Executive as well as Ministerial Cadre as the department is working round the clock at different check posts as well as in the office.
While speaking, Nazir Ahmed Bhat said that employees of Excise and Commercial Taxes Department have been ignored for the last 27 years in the matter of pay scales. He added that the Association continuously made so many of representations through proper channel for the past 26 years, but nothing has been done till date.
He appealed to the Finance Minister to personally intervene in the matter and redresses the issues of the employees of Excise and Commercial Taxes Departments on priority.
During the meeting, Commi-ssioner, Commercial Taxes and Excise, Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners were also present.
