Apropos news item appearing in this paper on 06.3.2016 captioned “Posts sanctioned for Commission for PwDs”. We thank the Governor N N Vohra for creating post of Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in J&K State fulfilling the long pending demand of physically challenged persons of this State coming right up to the aspirations of several deputations of various organizations. Certainly, a long pending demand of physically challenged persons has been addressed by SAC headed by the Governor himself. It is requested to the Governor to issue directions for the construction of Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for Persons with Disability without further delay as it has already been caused for addressing a number of genuine grievances of people who are suffering a lot.
In this connection I wish to say that adequate provisions for fitment of artificial leg/foot to the deserving persons are given priority. I would emphasize here that, in addition to conventional artificial limbs, efforts may be made for providing bionic/electronically propelled artificial limbs to the most deserving. The gesture shall be highly appreciated.
