JAMMU, June 1: M Raju, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, conducted an extensive tour of Jammu city and inspected the ongoing Projects under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) as well as developmental works of Corporation being executed at different sites.
These works are being executed at MAM Stadium, Drainage Project from Pawan Ice Cream to AG Office, Up-gradation/construction of drainage from Kamla Place on words, construction of drainage from Top Sherkhania and Sarika Vihar. The Commissioner also inspected green patches being developed at Jeevan Nagar etc.
Funds under AMRUT are meant for undertaking construction of lanes, drains, deep drains, nallahs, developmental of green spaces and parking etc so that there can be no obstruction in free flow of water during monsoon, providing of parking facilities to the citizens as well as development of green spaces to give neat and green look to the city and also to create healthy atmosphere.
The Commissioner also inspected the ongoing works of Bus Queue Shelters at Kunjwani Bye Pass road. He gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for completion of ongoing developmental works in a time bound manner and also directed them to directly approach him in case they face any difficult in respect of on going development works.
Among others, R S Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer, Ranjit Singh, Secretary, Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W), Executive Engineer (E), Surjit Singh, Rajan Sharma, Executive Engineer, UEED, S K Wali, Executive Engineer (T), Talat Mehmood Khan, Chief Transport Officer alongwith field staff also accompanied the Commissioner during the tour.
