Commissioner JMC visits different wards

JAMMU, May 16: In continuation to monitor the special sanitation drive under the title “Clean Jammu Green Jammu” in different wards of Jammu city, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Saujanya Sharma inspected ward number 52, 53 and 54.
He was accompanied by Health Officer JMC Dr Mohammad Saleem Khan.
A detailed round of different lanes and by-lanes of mentioned wards was undertaken by Commissioner.
Around 30-35 truckloads of garbage, silt and wild grass was removed by sanitation staff of JMC from the lanes and drains and disposed off at Municipal dumping ground at Bhagwati Nagar under standard operating procedures.
Commissioner JMC requested the general public to join the sanitation movement and make it sustainable.
Other issues like repair and installation of street lights, repair of drains, black toping of roads, removal of stray dogs and stray cattle from the locality were also raised by the locals.
On the occasion, Health officer JMC Dr Mohammad Saleem Khan told that the issue of sanitation is unglamorous and under reported.
Moreover to bring down the adult mosquito density, thermal fogging in whole area of Municipal Corporation is also going on as per scheduled already circulated.
Besides officers and officials of JMC prominent citizens present on the occasion were Ex Corporator Shubh Chander Verma, Santosh Mangotra, Nitish Mahajan, Aseem Gupta, Chanchal Popli, Bharat Sharma, etc.
