Committed to redress all concerns of Kargil students studying in Jammu: CEC

KARGIL, Feb 22: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today said that the Council is committed to redress all the concerns and demands of the Kargil students studying in Jammu.
“LAHDC Kargil is fully conscious of the issues of the students of Kargil studying in Jammu and is fully committed to redress all their concerns,” the CEC said while addressing the gathering during a function organized in connection with 26th annual day celebration of All Ladakh Students Welfare Association Jammu (ALSWAJ).
Former CEC, LAHDC, Kargil and Councillor Yurbaltak Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Registrar University of Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho, former Commissioner Secretary Revenue and eminent writer Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon, former DC Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, Deputy SP HQR Leh Ishtiyaq Kacho, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kargil Nargis Banoo, prominent citizens, parents and students were present on the occasion.
Feroz Khan assured ALSWAJ members that all demands submitted by the association relating to establishment of grievance cell for Ladakhi students and construction of girls hostel in Jammu, early declaration of DSSRB examination results and other related demands would be considered on priority and steps for fulfillment would be taken in a phased manner.
“Tendering process of the Rs 855 lakh project for construction of girls hostel at Majeen Sidhra is presently underway and work is expected to be allotted by the end of February 2020. With the completion of other requisite formalities the laying of foundation stone to kick start work on the project is expected by the second week of March, 2020,” he added.
The CEC, while congratulating ALSWAJ for having organized an impressive annual day programme, said that such occasions provide suitable platform and opportunities to students to develop their personality and further enhance their confidence level.
He said that students should strive to maintain a healthy balance between curricular and extracurricular activities which would lead to their overall development.
Meanwhile, Registrar University of Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho also addressed the students and spoke about the future prospects and various courses being introduced by the Ladakh University from the current academic session.
The function concluded with vote of thanks presented by president, ALSWAJ, Nayeem Lone and Cultural Secretary, Muzaffar Nabeel.
