Committee on promotion of tourism in wildlife, forests framed

SRINAGAR, Aug 9: Government today constituted a committee to work out the details for promotion of tourism in wildlife, forests and eco-sensitive zones.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the Committee will work out the details for promotion of tourism in wildlife, forests, eco-sensitive zones giving full attention to conserving the wildlife, carrying capacity and sustainability.
Commissioner/ Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department is the Chairman of the committee while as Commissioner Secretary, Forest Department, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Chief Wildlife Warden and Director Tourism of Kashmir and Jammu are its members.
The Committee will work out the details of action plan for promotion of tourism relating to wildlife, forests, eco-sensitive zones, prepare inventory of natural sites in the State which can be further promoted and assess the requirement of financial assistance from Union Ministry of Tourism.
The Committee will submit its report within a period of one month, the order said.
