LEH, Oct 26: The Administration of Ladakh Union Territory has constituted committees for submitting proposals for extending the Municipal boundary as per Section 5 of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000.
For Leh District, the committee shall be comprising Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Leh as Chairperson and Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh and Kargil as Convener. President Municipal Committee Leh; LAHDC Council Members-Upper and Lower Leh Councilor or any other member nominated by LAHDCs; Tsewang Dorje, I/c ENT Leh; representative from Housing & Urban Development Department and representative from Rural Development Department are members of the committee.
Similar, the committee for Kargil district shall be comprising Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil as Chairperson and Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kargil as Convener. President Municipal Committee Kargil; LAHDC Council Members-Town Councilors Kargil or any other members nominated by LAHDCs; Zakir Hussain, ENT Kargil; representative from Housing & Urban Development Department and representative from Rural Development Department are members of this committee.
