JAMMU, July 3: Alleging that common man in Jammu and Kashmir is suffering on account of wrong policies of the Government, National Conference Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta said that the tall claims made by Government with regard to unprecedented development in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A have proved to be hoax and the reality was that the situation had gone from bad to worst.
While addressing a public meeting at Vijaypur in Samba district today, which was organized by Sudagar Chand Gupta, District President Samba, the NC Provincial President raised serious concern over the extremely volatile situation in J&K describing it as fallout of wrong policies adopted by both the J&K Government and the Centre.
He asserted that due to the anti-people policies adopted by the Government, unemployment was at its peak and inflation has gone out of control amid the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities while the claims of unprecedented development stand exposed with the snail’s pace of almost all the works.
The NC leader alleged that the Government has miserably failed in providing basic amenities like water, power and ration to the common people of J&K. He said that due to lack of vision and wrong policies of the Government, people of J&K are facing a crisis like situation with each segment of society feeling abject neglect.
The senior NC leader criticized the Government for its failure to address the long pending demand of the agitating daily wagers of Jal Shakti Department due to which there is hue and cry of water scarcity.
Asking NC workers to gear-up for upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir, Gupta exhorted upon them to converge their efforts to intensify party’s public outreach programme to strengthen the base of the party. He stressed upon them to prepare themselves for upcoming Assembly elections in J&K in order to defeat the nefarious design of the anti-social elements which are hell bent to destroy social fabric among the society.
Among others who were present in the meeting included: Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary, Vijay Lochan, Abdul Gani Teli, Pardeep Bali, Suriya Begum (DDC), Chander Udhay Singh, Riaz Malik, Ajay Sharma, Ram Kumar, and others.
