TANGMARH, Nov 3: Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) chief and Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that common man’s prosperity and development couldn’t be held hostage to the political aspirations of some unscrupulous politicians.
“I have been working on the livelihood and civic development of people of J&K to make them economically independent. I believe that economic dispensation is more important than political dispensation. This helps in harnessing the talent of skilled and educated youth in a positive direction,” Mir said while addressing a large number of party workers after inaugurating the party office here.
He said that DPN was established to spread the model of development of Gulmarg, his home constituency, in whole of J&K.
“My main focus is on employment generation and development. This I have implemented in my home constituency. Now, our party will spread this model in whole of J&K. Upcoming Assembly election is the opportunity for our party to try our luck,” Mir said.
Mir hinted that DPN will field its candidates in many North and Central Kashmir districts including Srinagar.
“We are confident about winning many seats and Gulmarg cannot be taken away from anyone,” he said.
The DPN chief said that development of the State has been accelerated and several schemes have been undertaken in different fields especially agriculture.
Several deputations led by party workers met the Minister and put forth several demands. Mir assured that all their genuine demands would be included in the party’s manifesto and plans.
