Community demands holiday on birthday of Maharishi Kashyap

JAMMU, Apr 6: Kashyap Samaj commemorated birth anniversary of saint “Maharishi Kashyap” at Vivekanand Chowk, here today.
The program was hosted and organised by Advocate Suresh Dogra and a large number of people belong to the Kashyap community participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Advocate Suresh Dogra demanded a holiday on the birth anniversary of “Maharishi Kashyap” as many States like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh observe restricted holiday on this occasion.
Suresh Dogra also appealed the Government to allot a chunk of land to this community for installing a statue of Kashyap Rishi to be worshipped by the community members who are more than 6 lakh in number in Jammu & Kashmir.
Brij Mehra, Darshan Mehra, Jagvinder Tak, Rakesh Omi, Asha Mehra, Sulinder Bamotra, Jagdish Kashyap, Rajan Kashyap, Vivek Kashyap, Keshav Maski and others also spoke on the occasion.
