Community women, youth should support OBC status demand: AIJMS

JAMMU, Sept 12: All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) president and former JMC Mayor, Ch. Manmohan Singh today sought support of women and youth of Jat community in achieving the status of OBC at par with eleven other States of the country.
Manmohan Singh was speaking at a meeting in Dayala Chak in which women as well as youth of the area participated in large number.
The AIJMS president informed that a grand women convention shall be organized soon and appealed women and youth of the community to participate in that in large number to make it a grand success.
He appealed to the community women to stay together and stay strong and vociferously join the fight to get due right of the community in form of OBC status.
Manmohan Singh said that Jat Maha Sabha is struggling for OBC status to the community for the last many years but the government is lingering on the matter and paying no heed to it.
“Jat community has to take serious note of this neglect at the hands of present dispensation,” he maintained adding that his community will not support the present government in upcoming polls if their demand was not met.
He further said that people who were displaced in 1947 are still facing miseries as they have not been provided rights over the land allotted to them and no compensation for the land which in the course of time has come under development projects.
Col. S.R Choudhary and Brig. Pawan Choudhary also spoke on the occasion.
