JAMMU, Nov 25: Jugal Kishore Sharma Member of Parliament today appealed the Government that the residents of border areas should also get the compensation for their dead cattle and the houses which got damaged in the border firing. He demanded  permanent colonisation or allotment of land for the people living along the border areas for constructing their houses so that they can take shelter during the border skirmishes.
Sharma raised a question today in the Lok Sabha and said that the cattle of the poor people living along the border areas frequently die in the firing across the border. Their cattle cost from Rs 60 thousand to 80 thousand and they are getting no compensation from the Center as well as State Government. Most of the people earn their livelihood by selling their cattle and other products in the market. Jugal appealed the Government to pay compensation to these hapless people for their dead cattle.
He said that these people should also get compensation for their houses which got damaged in the firing so that they are able to repair them.
He demanded that the bunkers should be constructed in the border areas so that the people get shelter to protect themselves from the immediate firing situations. Jugal demanded that most parts of his Constituency are along the border and Government should think about the construction of permanent colonies so that the education of their children may not get affected and they may lead their day to day life smoothly.
