Sir,
Since over half a century, the demand for compensation of the losses, both human lives and inestimable properties in bloody days of 1947 has been echoing in streets, but deafness of ears of all past Govts kept it uncared. These unfortunates as the story reveals, had to undergo tearful accounts of troubles not only in these days, even many decades thereafter they remained suffering indescribably. The wounds of these days, if scratched still cause excruciating pain. Indecisiveness on the subject explains only lack of sympathy and failure in fulfilment of state obligations towards its citizens, who couldn’t be protected against atrocities of those days. Since much water has flown and the time once passed can’t be recalled, it is now for both the Govts (The Centre and the State) not to consume unreasonable time to ensure payment of the claims and extend other rights they (refugees) deserve to take them out from distressing life conditions, they are still passing through. It is hopefully hoped that in the present political scenario a new chapter in their welfare will start.
Yours etc,.
