Compensation demanded for Kalakote farmers

JAMMU, Mar 13: Senior Congress leader and former Legislator Ashok Sharma has expressed serious concern over the damage to standing crop due to heavy rains in Kalakote of Rajouri district and demanded compensation  to the affected farmers.
Sharma pleaded for constituting multi disciplinary teams of officers of agriculture and allied departments to visit the affected areas for assessment of crop loss and regular and timely supply of ration and sugar by PDS Department to the consumers of Kalakore constituency as they are facing serious difficulties.
This he said while addressing public meetings at Tarayath, Methani, Keshghar, Moghla, Metka, Kalakote, Breavi, Kabukote, Soulki, Khark, Bhatera and Panjnara as part of the Congress election campaign.
Among others who spoke in the meeting included Ashok Bajal, Sita Ram, Ram Bazal, Kewal Kumar, Behari Lal, Bodh Raj, Raj Kumar, Chain Lal, Rattan Lal, Pintu Sharma, Onkar Singh and Daleep Kumar.
