Compensation for COVID hit traders demanded

JAMMU, June 26: State President Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kamzi has urged upon J&K Lt. Governor to dole out economic package in favour of traders hit by COVID-19 pandemic for the last more than a year in order to put this sector back on track.
In a handout, Kazmi has claimed that owners of Shikaras, house boats, auto rickshaws, taxis, cabs and other business class have been financially hit by the pandemic triggered lockdown and other restrictions.
He further claimed that financial condition of the traders has deteriorated and they are unable to eke out their livelihood. Kazmi said, it is the need of hour to come forward and save such sectors from extinction by releasing economic packages in their favour as has been done by many States.
He also said that some urgent measures need to be worked out in this regard.
