Competition held in Commerce College

JAMMU, Oct 12: NSS Unit and Shikshit Bharat Committee in collaboration with Cultural and Literary Committee of Government SPMR College of Commerce organized essay writing competition to celebrate Khadi Mahotsav on the topic Atmanirbhar Bharat/Vocal for Local and Chandrayaan Utsav (Self Reliant India’s Chanrayaan) under the aegis of Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
About 25 students participated in the programme and expressed their views on the topic. Essay writing competition was adjudged by Prof Savita Jamwal, HOD Economics and Dr Monika Malhotra, IQAC Coordinator.
In the essay writing competition on the topic Self Reliant India’s Chanrayaan, Anamika Kandal of Semester 1st bagged first prize, whereas Pranav Verma of Semester 3rd and Jamuna Choudhary of Semester 1st shared 2nd prize. Third position was secured by Palak Gupta of Semster 1st.
The students who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position on the topic khadi Pe Charcha were Shiksha Dogra of Semester 1st, Kamaldeep Kour of Semester 1st, Vinti Gandral of Semester 1st and Rashmi Sharma of Semester 3rd.
Later, Kalash Yatra was also organised in the college premises in which faculty members and students actively participated. Principal Dr Surinder Kumar appreciated the efforts of the committee members for organizing such kind of competition which will instill in students the feeling of pride and sense of belongingness for the country.
The other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Savita Jamwal, Prof Shafqat Jahangir, Dr Monika Malhotra, Dr Sandhya Bhardwaj, Prof Harpreet Kaur, Dr Sana, Malik Aijaz and. Raman Sharma. The whole programme was coordinated and managed by Prof Deepshikha Sharma, Prof Rajni Bala, Dr Roomi Rani and Dr Deepak Pathania.
