Srinagar, Jan 24: A Rights Activist from Kupwara has filed a complaint before the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) demanding action against the Govt officials in connection with death of two young men from Kralpora area of Kupwara district.
Rasikh Rasool who is also district coordinator of Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement Kupwara has demanded action against the negligent public authorities especially the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and construction company as they failed to make the NH-44 a fair weather road.
Rasikh in his written complaint told NHRC that two youths namely Shabir Ahmad Mir (24) and Gulzar Ahmad Mir (27) were on the way to Jammu from Kupwara.
“Both the young men were found dead inside their car bearing registration number JK09B-7358 on Sunday afternoon. This incident is clearly indicating carelessness from the part of the Government as human lives are seemingly put at risk because no proper assistance was provided to them. Negligence of concerned officials (public authorities) may kindly identified for proper action and proper relief me kindly be provided to next of kin (NoK) of victims as early as possible”
Meanwhile Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar has demanded that construction company which is undertaking road widening on NH 44 be blacklisted as this firm has missed several deadlines to complete the work.
