Complete COVID vaccination of students, staff by Sept 19: Div Com

Srinagar, Sept 10: While the vaccination process is going on in full swing, the Principals of all the colleges in Kashmir including that of Medical Colleges have been directed to complete the COVID-19 vaccination by September 19 positively.
In this regard, a review meeting has already been held by the Divisional Commissioner, Pandurang K. Pole wherein all the Principals were directed to closely monitor the vaccination coverage of the staff and students of their colleges.
They have also been directed to complete the vaccination, at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine by September 19 in order to pave way for the resumption of the educational institutions particularly the colleges.
Further, in the same regard, the Divisional COVID-19 Control Room, Kashmir has shot a letter to the Principals of Government Medical Colleges, Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, and SKIMS MCH Bemina apprising them of the directives issued by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
“During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed Principals of all the Colleges for completing the COVID-19 vaccination of staff and students by 19-09-2021. Accordingly…you are requested to take necessary appropriate action to complete the vaccination of staff and students of your colleges within the said time period,” the letter reads.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar stated that because of the COVID-19 pandemic and looming wave 3rd, vaccination sites have been established in all the colleges of district Srinagar, while requesting the students, teaching and non-teaching staff present themselves for the vaccination.
