Complex Ortho surgery conducted at GMC Anantnag

Srinagar, July 2: Complex Orthopedic Spine surgery was performed by the Department of Orthopaedics, here at Govt Medical College Hospital Anantnag.
A middle-aged lady hailing from Banihal was admitted to the Orthopaedic ward as a case of fall from height with trauma to neck thereby leading to weakness of body and both lower limbs.
After investigations, the patient had Cervico dorsal (C7- T1 ) fracture-dislocation and was planned for surgery.
A team of doctors comprising Dr Younis Kamal and Dr Imran khan from Ortho, Dr Anjum Shameem, Dr Shaista and Dr Umar from the Anaesthesia, side operated upon the patient successfully.
The patient during the post-operative period is recovering very well and on an active rehabilitation Programme by concerned physiotherapists.
It pertinent to mention here that the patient was operated under the PM-JAY scheme (Ayushman ) and a surgical implant including medicine was given free of cost.
